Decker Terrier Pups for Sale

Heidi, our female Decker Terrier, just delivered a litter of nine puppies, six males and three females. One of the females is reserved. The puppies will be ready for their new homes around Christmas time. If you are looking for a dog to compliment your livestock guardian program you should consider adding a Decker to your team.

They are fiercely loyal to us and leery of strangers until they know they are approved by us. We use them on the farm to control predators outside the pastures, rodents and to alert us when things just aren’t right.

Visist our Decker Terrier page to read more, and see the pups.

GWAS - a terrific show!

Fossil Ridge Alpaca’s could not be any happier with the results they are getting from their awards! This year at the Great Western Alpaca Show (2007) we walked away with more than we could have ever expected. The best of the best come to this large show, and we managed to stay among the top.
Kanaka took 2 reserve color champions - one in the halter, one in the fleece show. Rumaki took 2 seconds, one in the halter and one in the fleece show. Bit-O-Honey finally had enough competition so there could be a color championship, and she took it! Our newest girl Chai, at 6 months old took a first place as well. Not bad….

First Off-spring of Fossil Ridge Rumaki’s

Boy are we impressed! Fossil Ridge Rumaki’s first off-spring hit the ground on December 15th and he is a beauty! His name is Fossil Ridge Rumaki’s Crown Royale, a light fawn from beige (Ruamki) and white (Feliz) so we know that Rumaki will throw the color. “CR” is a very impressive guy… great coverage, awesome fiber, lots of crimp and brightness… we are looking forward to showing him later this year.

Kanaka does it again

Kanaka wins his fourth color championship at 2007 TXOLAN Spectacular. At 27 months of age, Kanaka bested 33 other entrants in the Male Medium Fawn classes to win the championship. Judge Charlene Friedman stated “This boy has it all, character, density, staple length, consistency, and fineness. I noticed him as soon as he walked in the ring; he has a true Macho presence".

Kanaka was awarded the 2006 Mid-America Alpaca Show Male Fawn Color Championship under Judge Amy Bliss-Miller. Judge Bliss-Miller commented that it was his fineness and uniformity that placed him ahead of all other competitors.

Kanaka was awarded the 2006 MOPACA Dark/Medium Fawn Color Championship. Senior judge Jude Anderson stated; “There really was no question, I noticed this guy as soon as he walked in the ring. He has a sturdy frame and good size. When I opened his fleece, it is uniform from his neck right the way to his tail. This young male has all the qualities I am looking for including uniformity, density, and fineness".

Kanaka placed 1st at 2006 GWAS in the Medium Fawn yearling male class judged under Amanda Vandenbosch

Kanaka won the Light Color Championship at 2006 Southwest Regional Alpaca Show, besting 17 light colored males in the light, light fawn, and beige classes.

Kanaka’s Dam, Crescent Moon’s Mint Twist, is a Peruvian Legacy daughter. Kanaka’s sire is Avatar, the award winning light rose gray herdsire. As you can see, Kanaka combines the qualities of some of the very best award winning genetics in our industry today.

Kanaka began settling females last year and his 2007 stud book is filling fast. If you are tired of settling for lower standings in the shows, you need to add these award-winning attributes to your herd. Call us now to book a breeding to Kanaka.
